Southsea is a seaside resort and the southern boundary of the parish is the seafront. Many hotels, guesthouses, pubs, nightclubs, etc. are included in this area together with a
large number of rest homes; the residential accommodation includes considerable contrasts from DSS and other multiple-occupancy households through to very comfortable middle-class housing. The parish is part of an "inner city" area and is very densely populated. The parish includes one side of Albert Road, a busy shopping area.
